What is document imaging and why is it important in today's economy? Document imaging enables systems to replicating documents used in business and government. This includes microfilm, microfilm scanning, document scanners, Computer Output Microfilm (COM fiche) and archive writers. Document imaging is also used in software-based computer systems that capture, retrieve, store and reprint images.
