NHL trade: Daniel Carcillo and Scottie Upshall

Hockey news: The Flyers have acquired Daniel Carcillo from Phoenix for winger Scottie Upshall and a second-round pick.

If this is a payroll move, it only saves a few hundred thousand dollars. This deal doesn't make a lot of sense on the surface, which leads me to believe another trade is in the words. Upshall is a better hockey player than Carcillo, and to also give up a second round pick is weird.
